Kiran Polavarapu, M.D. was born in the Midwest and raised as a Texan. After graduating in the Top 3% of her class from Temple High School and being honored with the Wendy’s Heisman Award (awarded to only two students in the state of Texas), she became one of a few students in the state of Texas to be awarded Presidential Scholarship from Texas A&M University. She then earned a combined BA-MD from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, being one of only a handful of out-of-state students accepted into the exclusive accelerated medical program.

Dr. Polavarapu went on to complete residency in general surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess in Boston, Massachusetts, a Harvard training program. She chose to continue her training with a plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship in Louisiana State University.

She was then fellowship trained in cosmetic/aesthetic Surgery at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary under internationally renowned Manhattan plastic surgeon, Dr Donald Wood-Smith. Due to the effects of Hurricane Katrina, Dr. Polavarapu’s training has been more than unique and rewarding.
